
Barrie residents receive the honour of meeting the Queen in Ottawa

Today, John Nuttall and Joe Anderson had the great honour of meeting the Queen at a reception at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. Both residents devote their time and energy to supporting agencies for the betterment of Barrie. “When Members of Parliament were given the opportunity to meet with the Queen, I elected to send designates from Barrie who I believe are outstanding individuals and who best represent our community.” said MP Brown. “It was my pleasure to give John Nuttall and Joe Anderson this opportunity.” said MP Brown. John Nuttall is a long time dedicated volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie and District and the Simcoe County Association of Physically Disabled. Joe Anderson is Vice President and Regional Publisher of Metroland North Media Group. He recently received the Silver Quill award which represents 25 years of outstanding service to the newspaper industry. Throughout his career Joe has been supportive and involved with community groups in Barrie including Talk is Free Theatre, Barrie Arts Awards Advisory Committee and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. |
