CELEBRITY LINE UP FOR CHARITY GAME GROWS
June 10, 2009
CELEBRITY LINE UP FOR CHARITY GAME GROWS: GARTNER, CORSON AND TUCKER CONFIRM The list of celebrities playing in the August 13th Hockey Night in Barrie charity game at the Barrie Molson Centre just got a little more entertaining. The current and former NHL stars confirmed to date are Darcy Tucker, Mike Gartner, Shayne Corson, and Aaron Johnson and the list grows every day! Minister of Sport Garry Lunn, hockey great Eddie Shack and figure skating legend Jennifer Robinson are returning as assistant coaches. Additionally, for the first time ever, MP Brown is happy to announce several autographed auction items from NHL stars who are unable to attend the Hockey Night in Barrie charity game. Included in this list are autographed goods from New York Ranger Chris Drury and St. Louis Blue Paul Kariya. The game is being coordinated by Barrie MP, Patrick Brown and all funds raised from the game will go towards building the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre at Royal Victoria Hospital. “This is a great way for the community to come together for a great cause and it has been so successful in the past because it mixes two things that Barrie residents are passionate about: hockey, and the RVH and it is my hope that we can continue our success into this year. This years addition of hockey stars Darcy Tucker and Shayne Corson will be a great boost to the event” said MP Patrick Brown. Tickets are $5,$10, and $15 and for further information or to purchase tickets please check out our website at www.hockeynightinbarrie.com. Doors open at 5:30 pm, pregame begins at 6:30pm and the puck drops at 7pm sharp. Sponsorship opportunities still available!
