Barrie – MP Patrick Brown is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Hockey Night in Barrie was a great success thanks to the support of all that participated and the enthusiasm of the fans in attendance. Thursday evening’s event played to a sold out crowd at the Barrie Molson Centre.
This year’s event set the goal high for those in the future raising in excess of $121,000.00 to benefit the Royal Victoria Hospital’s Phase 1 Expansion Project. Last year $100,000.00 was raised at the inaugural event giving Barrie bragging rights as the community to raise the most money in support of their hospital at a charitable hockey game. With the increase this year, our community is a tough act to follow.
“I want to thank everyone in Barrie that supported Hockey Night in Barrie” said MP Brown “To have such an elite group of celebrities and professional hockey players from across Canada take part in this Barrie event is just incredible. It isn’t surprising that this event is quickly becoming a model for others across Canada” he added.
Special thanks go to the local community platinum sponsors Barrie Ball Hockey, Barrie Advance, Rock 95 Kool/FM and A Channel.
