Attention hockey fans! There will be a Celebrity Ball Hockey Game scheduled for Saturday August 1st at 3 pm to promote Hockey Night in Barrie with proceeds going to the RVH. The event will take place at the Barrie Ball Hockey League located at 125 Ferndale Drive North Barrie, ON L4N 9V6.
Representatives from the Barrie media will be joined by Barrie Colt Peter Stephens, Barrie City Councillors Michael Prowse, Alex Nuttall, John Brassard, former MPP Joe Tascona, and current MP Patrick Brown.
Brian Broley of Barrie Ball Hockey plans to raise $25,000 this weekend during the tournament and will give all of the proceeds to the RVH through Hockey Night in Barrie.
Some of the prizes for the players available through the Barrie Ball Hockey League in partnership with Hockey Night in Barrie are an autographed Paul Kariya of the St. Louis Blues rookie card and postcard as well as an autographed Dan Girardi hockey stick of the New York Rangers.
“This ball hockey tournament is a special new feature to the Kempenfest long weekend in Barrie. I want to praise Brian Broley and the Barrie Ball Hockey League for the incredible work they are doing for the RVH and Hockey Night in Barrie.” says MP Brown.
Hockey Night in Barrie is to take place on Thursday August 13th, 2009 at the Barrie Molson Centre at 555 Bayview Drive Barrie ON. Doors open at 5:30 puck drops at 7:00PM. Come join MP Brown, NHLers Mike Gartner, Darcy Tucker, Shayne Corson, Aaron Johnson, Gary Leeman and Minister of National Defence Peter MacKay for the biggest hockey event of the summer.
