Prime Minister Stephen Harper welcomes New Zealand Prime Minister key

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced that John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, will visit Canada on April 14. This is Mr. Key’s first visit to Canada as Prime Minister. Prime Minister Harper will meet with Prime Minister Key in Ottawa to discuss the long-standing Canada-New Zealand relationship and our cooperation on bilateral, regional and global issues of shared interest, including international security and the global economic recovery. “2010 marks the 70th anniversary of the opening of the first Canadian High Commission in Wellington,” said Prime Minister Harper. “This is another important milestone in the excellent relations Canada and New Zealand enjoy. I am pleased to welcome Prime Minister Key on this special occasion to further strengthen the close links between our countries.” Prime Minister Key will visit the National War Memorial, where he will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He will also meet with Cabinet members, as well as Canadian business and industry representatives. |
