
Government of Canada supports innovative research and development in Barrie

Barrie ON — MP Patrick Brown, Member of Parliament for Barrie, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), today announced a contribution to Wolf Steel Ltd. from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program. The funding supports an innovative research and development project that will assist Wolf Steel Ltd with a contribution of $122,500. “Our government is investing in science and technology to create good jobs, strengthen the economy and improve Canadians’ quality of life,” said MP Brown. “This government is supporting Canadian firms that successfully develop innovative technologies. Canada’s Economic Action Plan is supporting scientific research and commercialization, while creating good jobs and economic growth.” The Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan provided new resources of $200 million to the Industrial Research Assistance Program over two years to support innovative Canadian firms.
