MP Patrick Brown Presents Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals

June 15, 2012 – Today, Member of Parliament, Patrick Brown presented Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals to fifteen worthy recipients. This event marked the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada.

Each recipient proudly received their medal and certificate in Council Chambers at Barrie City Hall with a gathering of their friends and family. The Town Crier made his proclamation followed by greetings from MP Brown and video greetings from His Excellence, the Right Honourable Governor General David Johnston.

“The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medals are reserved for recognizing and honouring exceptional Canadians of all ages and walks of life for their contributions to their fellow citizens, to our community and to our country.” said MP Brown. “Today, it was an honour to present Queen’s Jubilee medals to fifteen exceptional Canadians from Barrie in appreciation of their individual accomplishments. They inspire others to take up the call to service”
