Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Medal Presentation
May 29, 2012
Member of Parliament, Patrick Brown is pleased to announce that a Queen’s Jubilee Medal Presentation will be held recognizing fifteen worthy recipients from Barrie.
A new commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. The Chancellery of Honours, as part of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, administers the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal program. MP Brown will present the Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Medals on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 9:30 am in Barrie Council Chambers. “The medals recognize and honour exceptional Canadians of all ages and walks of life for their contributions to their fellow citizens, to our community and to our country.” said MP Brown. “It is my pleasure to present the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medals to very outstanding Canadians from Barrie for the dedication of their time and efforts to bettering the lives of those around them, and for making Canada stronger.” The Medal presentations will be followed by a coffee reception for recipients, their families and friends. Media are welcome to attend.
